Forums & Discussion Boards

Create Threaded Conversations for Church Ministries

An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site. It originated as the modern equivalent of a traditional bulletin board, and a technological evolution of the dialup bulletin board system. From a technological standpoint, forums or boards are web applications managing user-generated content.

Like traditional bulletin boards, Internet forums can include as many topics and subtopics as will fit in the system, which is almost unlimited. Forums provide a great way to discuss topics safely among targeted groups of members. In other words, forums (or discussion boards) can be locked so that only specific users can access content. Each section of a forum can have different permissions, making it easy to establish groups for each aspect of your ministry. Church councils, for example, may wish to have a dedicated section of your forum to discuss private issues within your community.

Although forums require authentication, KEYPOPPY systems do not need separate login information to access the forum.  In other words, users can use the same login information for the website as they do for the forum. And if they are logged into one section of the website, they are automatically logged into the forum.

Forums can accept avatars, signatures, attachments, images, quotes, and many other design elements. Members can also use the forum as a social networking took to communicate without relying on email.
