Google™ Image Gallery with Picasa

picasaStore all your church images in an easy-to-use online gallery

As a Google™ provider, KEYPOPPY offers clients enterprise level calendar, email, groups, images, and document solutions, much like Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes (without any extra cost for the software and more web friendly). Picasa image galleries are absolutely free, operate on universal code (which makes them sharable anywhere), and they can function as part of your web system—no need for your members to switch sites to view your galleries.

As part of KEYPOPPY’s G-Sync (mail, groups, calendar, maps, Picasa, and docs), your website is configured to display your Picasa galleries. In addition to all of the powerful features of Picasa itself, the G-Sync system increases search engine ranking and offloads critical bandwidth to lighting fast Google™ servers, thereby increasing the performance and usability of your website.

Like many other Google™ Apps, Picassa is perfect for church websites. Not only can you categorize images, label, tag, link, RSS, and so more, but Google™ also provides ample disk space (1GB free) and nifty editing software to boot (pun intended). The optional image editor is an executable program that installs onto Windows machines (but also available for Mac). After a few minutes of indexing your image archives, even to the point of isolating individual faces on each image for future name tagging, you’ll fall in love with its fast and easy management of files and folders. It also includes some interesting and FAST editing tools, perfect for fixing a red-eye or blurring the background of an image. You can create a collage in about 10 seconds, literally! Just select a group of images, select the “collage” button, tweak it with tools on the images, and presto! A beautiful collage!

As if that wasn’t enough, you can upload your images to your KEYPOPPY website (via Picasa) without ever opening your website (you don’t even need a browser to upload images). Select your images in Picasa with a few clicks of your mouse, click the “upload” button and your images will be resized and formatted into your online gallery.
